Night

Starry_Night_Over_the_Rhone

Night
(night…night…night)
There is only the night for
Our dreams and our flights
Of fancy and fevered
Thoughts
Carried like seeds peppered upon
The edge a Doe’s eyelash
Tumbled, trembled off into the
Night
(night…night…night…)
The most familiar shadow
Of all cast upon us once
and twice one hundred times
Again and again
As the world ambles
Drunken
Whispering to the starlight
Night
(night…night…night…)
Numberless cravings sated with
Interwined fingers, bodies in soft
congress, within each other
Physically
Filled
Filling
Fulfilled
Longing
Need
Joy expressed in leaps of the heart and thrills
Down the back
Verses of thanksgiving written
In perspiration chilled by the cool air of the
Night
(night…night…night…)
